Henry S. Gornbein is a partner in the law firm Gornbein, Fletcher and Smith PLLC, of Bloomfield Hills, specializing in all areas of family law including divorce, child custody, visitation rights, prenuptual agreements, divorce mediation, arbitration and paternity. He has been a mediator and arbitrator for hundreds of cases and lectures extensively nation-wide. Gornbein is the author of numerous family law articles in legal journals as well as the author of the chapter on Spousal support in the Michigan Family Law Book that is used by lawyers and judges throughout the State of Michigan. He is the founder and principal owner of the Web site Divorceonline.com, an electronic journal on family law. In addition, Gornbein is the creator, producer and host of the long-running award winning public television show, "Practical Law." Recently, Gornbein was awarded the Oakland County Bar Association 2004 Professionalism Award. He is not only a former chairman of the Family Law Section of the State Bar of Michign but also is a past president of the Michigan Inteprofessional Association on Marriage, Divorce and the Family. He is an active member of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and held the position of president of the Michigan Chapter.
